The Collins Group, the residential developer behind the project, is currently awaiting the green light from the South African National Roads Agency Limited (Sanral). Geoff Perkins, the managing director of Collins Group, shared at a recent development panel discussion at Manor House that construction could kick off in the fourth quarter of this year if approval goes smoothly. The goal is to complete the interchange by the end of 2025.
“We’ve submitted our detailed design for the N2 south-facing on- and off-ramps to Sanral and are hopeful for a quick approval.” – Geoff Perkins, Managing Director, Collins Group
R100 Million Project to Enhance Local Infrastructure
With an estimated cost of over R100 million, this project promises to significantly improve local traffic flow and support future residential growth. Recently, Collins Group completed the upgrade at the intersection of Salt Rock and Sheffield Beach Roads (P330/P474), which included the addition of new traffic lights and slip lanes.
Commitment to Community Development
Perkins emphasized the importance of these upgrades for surrounding communities:
“This vital route serves several estates, including Seaton and Lalela. Our commitment to this project underscores our dedication to supporting the local community.”
Sanral Working Closely with Developer
Sanral’s Eastern Region design and construction manager, Ravi Ronny, confirmed the agency is working in close partnership with Collins Group:
“We’ve made great strides in reviewing their design and are nearing the final stages of feedback. While we can’t commit to exact dates yet, we’re working diligently with the developer to move forward.” – Ravi Ronny
