Your Gateway to the Dolphin Coast

Rich History of Ballito

Established in 1954 by the Glen Anil Development Corporation, led by Dr. Edward Rubenstein, Ballito was originally a private township on a sugar cane farm at Compensation Beach. The name "Ballito" was inspired by a hosiery brand from St. Albans, England. Early advertisements in the Sunday Tribune offered land from R790, attracting investors to the North Coast.
