Kloof at a glance

Kloof is a quiet, leafy upper-class suburb outside of Durban City Central in KwaZulu Natal.

It is part of a cluster of suburbs known as the Upper Highway with neighbouring suburbs such as Hillcrest, Gillitts and Winston Park. There are several private schools in the area such as Thomas More College and St Mary's Diocesan School for Girls. Several small shopping centres are situated around the area giving local residents a selection of shops for their shopping needs.

Many of the old historical buildings like the Fields Hotel now known as Fields Shopping Centre have been converted for today's use but their memory still stood lives with many of the older residents who still live in their large family homes.

The KrantzKloof Nature Reserve is a popular attraction for people who which to get out in the fresh air without travelling too far. The Nature reserve was once home to leopard and chacma baboon which were then relocated to a safer destination as the area grew in popularity and many homes were built.
